I love a good arty type festival. Especially one that’s accessible, one that gets you out interacting and experiencing different views of things I might see all the time or shows me something new in a place I think I know. By accessible I mean one where people can easily take, themselves, their partner or the whole family along see it and not in some stuffy gallery.

If you are looking for something to do in Sydney this weekend the Vivid Sydney Festival is on at the moment and turning various parts of the city into amazing places to inspire and entertain locals and travellers from all over the world.

See Sydney in a different light

Vivid Sydney, developed by Events NSW in partnership with the City Of Sydney, will be the biggest international music and light festival in the Southern Hemisphere. It will showcase the city as a major creative hub in the Asia-Pacific region, celebrating the diversity of Sydney’s creative industries.

Vivid Sydney features four exciting new events:

- Luminous

- Smart Light Sydney

- Creative Sydney

- Fire Water

The Vivid Sydney festival in May and June creates irresistible stories through light and sound and brave new ideas; stories that inspire and entertain people, stories which combine to become a unique and powerful expression of ‘Creative Sydney’.

Vivid Sydney is vested in creativity, dreams and aspirations.

This unique new public festival will transform the city into a spectacular living canvas of music and light in and around the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Circular Quay and the city centre.
